A beautiful face, a lovely figure, and a sense of fashion are all tools. With any or all of those, you can pretty much get whatever it is that you want. They're advantages in a world such as ours, a world where aesthetics is important. It is a reality we need to face.

We are all a little vain inside, whether we admit it or not. We want to be beautiful, sexy, and desirable. A glance, a compliment, and even a whistle are all boosts to the ego, an ego we instinctively like to feed.

But what is behind the pretty face? What is beyond that curvy figure? What is underneath the fashionable clothes? What is inside there? Who are we inside?

Are we just what people see outside? Are we going to let ourselves be defined by how we look and only by how we look? I have nothing against beauty. Beauty is divine, God's creation. I do think we should pay attention to our appearance. But it shouldn't be everything. Paying excessive attention to beauty is not appreciating beauty. It is being blinded by beauty, an altogether different thing from what God had intended. It is a worldly predicament.

In my opinion, brains and a good heart are worth far more than shiny hair and creamy skin.

But of course, having both beauty and brains is an even better solution. But then again, we can't always have it all.
