At two o'clock in the morning and with everyone in our house sound asleep, I find myself still awake feeling oh-so-emotional. I have just finished reading a Japanese suspense novel entitled Shinju. It was great, very beautifully written. I got so engrossed. Japanese culture and politics are indeed very interesting. And so now, I am restless.

I always get this strange feeling after reading a book, especially a good one. All of the wit, the drama, the suspense, the emotions that have swelled up inside of me, the poetry and the magic rub off on me. They stay long after I've finished the last page. It's like I am still inside that fantasy world described in the pages. I am still at one with whichever character I was able to relate to in the course of my reading. I am still riding that rollercoaster the author has designed.

I guess it's just hard to switch back to reality after having such intellectual and emotional stimulation. I find myself simply overwhelmed.
